Principal’s Message

Dear Seven Pines Families,

Wow! What a wild ride this has been over the past several weeks! It seems so very strange not be greeting our students each morning as they arrive to school, hearing the laughter of excited children at lunch time, and waving good bye at the end of the school day. With the closing of schools, I know there are many questions and challenges for us all in the coming days. However, we know that these challenges won’t keep our mighty penguins down! Parents and students, we will get through this together! I want to say a huge ‘thank you’ to our families who are embracing homeschooling for the first time. As students work on their packets, please know that teachers are only an email away if you have questions. We know that the packets won’t last forever, so we will continue to post helpful ideas, websites, and activities for students on Facebook and our school’s website until we have additional direction from our Central Office. Also, please scroll to the bottom of this message for additional free resources for students and parents. If families are in need of food items, please don’t hesitate to reach out at the nearest HCPS food distribution location at Sandston Elementary School between 11-12 noon to get needed items.

We hope that our Penguin families enjoyed our Social “Miss-tancing” parade through our Seven Pines neighborhoods. What a wonderful positive boost for everyone! We miss our penguins so much and the parade offered us a change to bring some joy to our families during a challenging and stressful time! I will continue to update you as more information becomes available. Also, be check out the documents posted to our website as these will answer many of your questions. To all my sweet penguins, keep reading, playing, and learning. Please know that we love you and will continue to reach out to you to check up with you and offer support. Also families, I will be in touch as soon as possible with additional information as it becomes available. In the meantime, hug those penguins tightly and tell them we love them. Reassure them that everything will okay! Please reach out to your child’s teacher or me if you anything! Again, we will get through this together. You families are our number one priority!

Yours in education,

Terri Mothershead
