Principal’s Message

Good afternoon Seven Pines Families and Staff,
Well everyone, it’s that time! I hope you had a chance to relax and enjoy a great Labor Day weekend as we prepare for the first day of school. Yes, things will certainly be different this year, but we’re not letting COVID 19 stop us from learning and exceling this year at The Pines! Students have devices, learning stations are established, learning packets distributed, 1:1 meetings with teachers and practice runs completed! Parents, we urge you to practice the steps for logging into class meetings and following the steps outlined in the paper work provided to you in your learning kits. Also, Andy Jenks has shared helpful videos for parents as well. So penguins, let’s get ready to learn beginning tomorrow at 8:00 a.m. sharp! So get into bed early tonight so you will be ready for the first day of the 20-21 school year and virtual learning! Parents, if you have trouble accessing class meetings, please call the office at 804-328-4065. We will have staff available to troubleshoot problems with you. We will be distributing meals at Seven Pines from Monday-Thursday from 7:00-9:00 a.m. and 11:30-1:30 p.m. Families will receive a breakfast and lunch for each enrolled student in HCPS when you drive through for meals. Please stay in your car and mask up! We ask that meals be placed in your trunk or back seat to limit contact as much as possible. Buses will travel to the following neighborhoods on Mondays and Wednesdays and stop for 30 minutes at each stop:

• Whiteside Road and Bradley Pines Circle (Seven Pines E.S., Elko M.S., Varina H.S.)
• Betner Road and Betner Court (Seven Pines E.S., Elko M.S., Varina H.S.)

Our teachers are ready and wish to thank our Seven Pines families for working along side us preparing for this unprecedented school year. Together we can do this! Remember, team work makes the dream work! So let’s get learning, Penguins! WE’VE GOT THIS!
