Seven Pines has the amazing opportunity to have the Young Scientist organization teach hands-on science lessons throughout the school year. Here are a few photos from their most recent lesson with 5th grade on energy!

Don't forget, this Thursday, November 16th, Seven Pines is presenting a word workshop! Have your students teach you how they work with words at school and learn how to better support your penguins at home. Join us from 4:30- 5:30 pm.

Shoutout to Mr. Holmes for being our Emperor Penguin for the day. He was a huge help around campus! He was spotted assisting with the car rider lunch, monitoring the lunch room, keeping penguins safe on the sidewalk, and even spent some time in classrooms reading!

3rd grade penguins created wild selfies today. Students used their knowledge about animal adaptations to design a new animal. Student then discussed how their adaptations would help them survive in the habitat they chose.

Hello Families, Friends, and fellow Penguins
You may have heard from your child or students that the Art Room at Seven Pines has Adopted a Class Cow from a Dairy farm located in Virginia. This past week we took a schoolwide vote to see which grade levels thought the cow was a Girl or a Boy. The majority of the school voted for Girl and they were correct! Our Class Cow’s name is Pokey! Please enjoy the following links and Photos of our adorable Pokey! Feel free to share with family and friends and stay tuned for updates on Pokey’s life and growth on the farm! Find out more here: https://bit.ly/pokeycow

Shoutout to Mr. Gray for being our Emperor Penguin for the day, helping us with the grand opening of our PBIS Store, and keeping our Penguins Safe.

Have any extra shoe boxes or shoebox-sized boxes? We would LOVE to take them off of your hands. Please send any donations to room C305, the STEAM lab.
Thank you!!

Tomorrow, Friday, October 27th is our first half day AND Belonging Day at Seven Pines! Your student will NOT want to miss this 1/2 day packed full of fun. If possible, have your student dress in their grade level color for the pep rally games.

Tuesday, October 31st is Book Character Day! Wear a costume to represent your favorite book character.

Third grade students reviewed for their geography assessment by labeling a blank map. Students moved through three different challenges with a partner. First they labeled continents and oceans and then then labeled land and water features on each continent. Way to go 3rd grade!

Kinder penguins went on a nature walk and sorted their items by physical properties. Then they felt items in a mystery box with their eyes closed. Students worked together to describe the objects physical properties and guess what was inside. What a fun way to explore matter!
